Since Bente Consulting was established in 2010, assignments have concentrated on four inter-linked but distinct topics:

Civil society & rights with a strong focus on social and political accountability mechanisms, civil society engagement in policy dialogue and advocacy, as well as rights based program implementation.

Capacity assessment of international NGOs and development institutions, as well as government institutions, agro-business service providers and local CSOs in developing countries. Process-approach to ensure participation and buy-in to recommendations is a basic principle.

Program management cycle with assignments in all phases – identification and baseline study, design of results based monitoring systems, reviews and evaluations – with government institutions, private sector and civil society.

Mozambique counts the major part of the assignments based on in-depth knowledge of the socio-political context, institutional landscape and an extensive network. There is a recent focus on natural resources and land access in combination with civil society and rights.
